Crichlow, Ernest

(1914-2005)

Born in Brooklyn, he studied art in New York city and went on to work on the WPA . He exhibited at the HARLEM COMMUNITY CENTER in 1938 where he showed his famous depiction of a Klansman attacking a Black woman.
